A train journey
The story behind the poem

I wrote this poem one June, on the train, going from Aberystwyth where I was at College to Aylesbury for a job interview (unsuccessful as usual). It was difficult to choose what to include of the things I saw and so the second line in particular is rather arbitrary. The rhythm of the poem is intended to mimic the rhythm of the train.
