Poem and Poet
~ From your works shall you be known ~

Maroubra Beach
The story behind the poem

The kids are playing in the sand and they want some help to make some sandcastles so they call out to their parents who are sunbaking in front of the sea and then the parents finally finish the sandcastle and the kids shout with glee because the sandcastle was finished.
Farther out at sea the dolphins are leaping through the water and the passengers on a boat see them and think that they're amazing.
Then some people see some seagulls looking for dinner and when they find a fish they gobble it down quickly.
You can collect some shells with your family and you must be happy that you get to go to Maroubra Beach!
When you go on a walk on the sand you remember the ship Hereward crashing in the rocks in 1898.
You'll probably feel sad when you have to go home but you can always come back whenever you like.
