Change
In a world of changing times, changing rooms and
changing looks;
Flicking through the TV channels and no more hard back books:
Changing weather constantly put down to climate change.
A pocket full of change and the landscape rearranged,
Differences in the cost of goods and house prices fluctuate,
Loving on the Tuesday: by the Friday seething hate
Because personalities change; it seems nothing now is stable.
Four channels are not enough, time to install cable.
Drinking milk is good for you, no wait, we changed our mind;
It does seem hard to keep up in this world of changing times.
Smoking is bad for you although it's not always been that way,
Stay in and watch TV kids, don't go out and play
Because the change here in society now puts children in danger:
Trust is not the fashion now; beware of the stranger!
Driving is no longer sound because of the change in mother earth.
Marriage is outdated so there's no shame in a bastard's birth.
Help thy neighbor friend that you are helped in return
But the fad now is ignorance; don't worry you'll soon learn.
Still, change is for the better or so I have been told
So why does all this change leave so many of us cold?
