Addiction
The story behind the poem
I was inspired to write
this piece while I was at university studying a module called 'drama
and health'. We were aiming to write to inform people about certain
topics. Addiction is a topic that I am very familiar with as I have
dealt with some difficult and challenging situations in my life. The
aim of this poem was to write from the perspective of an emotion -
to get inside its 'mind'... with the added twist that it was in an
'AA' type meeting which just seemed really interesting.
