Sunflowers
The story behind the poem
It is a special sight, a field of sunflowers all looking at you. I fancy I can
feel the warmth of their gaze and there is nothing abashing about it.
Their uniformity does indeed remind me of millefiori artwork, and I
also see them as beaming saints in an old painting with a fringe of hair and a fringe of
beard, looking out of eyes full of love.
