A Thought
The story behind the poem
I wrote this poem when I was sixteen and fascinated by
the possibility of life after death. It is very naive in that the
examples of circularity given all derive from the turning of heavenly
bodies which do not really impinge on the likelihood of resurrection
or survival of individual consciousness. Nonetheless there is
something emotionally tenable about comparing the secure expectation
of a new day or a new spring with the expectation or otherwise of
renewed personal existence. by
