Careless
How careless we are with life.
Insecurity of birth quickly lost.
We hasten to seek out adventure.
Explorers in a restless world.
Curiosity our greatest overseer.
Slaves to daily battles fought.
Time our endless foe finds power.
We wake a child in our mind still.
Our reflected image shows our tale.
When did the sun set on our dawn?
The horizon now lost to fatigue.
Youth a quiet whisper in our ear.
Our minds remember battles won.
Hearts linger to mourn our loss.
Fallen soldiers to a speedy quest.
Life we value not your treasure.
Till warriors fall to sunset's light.
