A hero
The story behind the poem

I wrote this poem when I was at the Eugene Mission. I was down on my luck.
This poem is about the founder of the mission, Ernie Unger. He started it over fifty years ago and has put his heart into it. His love and his values have made an impact on many people's lives over the years, including mine. So with these thoughts in my heart, I wrote this poem as a tribute to him.
