Stars
Is the door locked forever,
Now destiny has stolen the key?
There will always be a place in my heart,
Even though it's not meant to be.
Do you count the stars at night,
Hoping that I see them too?
Hearing the echoes of our laughter,
When time was exclusive,
To me and you.
Do your days begin and never end?
The approaching nightfall,
Your dearest friend.
Somewhere,
Out there,
I am lonely too.
Suspended in a time gone by,
My memories, the only remnants of you.
As time slowly weaves her magic;
Sadness releases my heart.
Do you still think of me?
Is fate the only victor?
Striving to maintain the distance;
Her vendetta to keep us apart.
When you close your eyes,
Do you see my face?
Does somebody new
Now reside in that special place?
Remember the fairy tale,
The one you named true love?
Merely a simple illusion;
Like the stars in the sky above.
Each one born full of promise,
A vibrant burning light.
Eventually fades to nothing,
Disappearing into the night.
