A proposal
All my relationships have lasted exactly a year,
No matter what my feelings they will always disappear.
Maybe I feel scared, trapped, on my own?
Whatever the reasons - I'd just rather be alone.
Anniversaries for me have never been fun,
Merely a reason to make excuses and run.
Now right on cue and our love's under the weather,
So I suggest let's break up - and then get back together.
Stay up with me all night and I'll talk about my ex,
Talk about the good things and talk about the sex.
Tell you all the bad things and how he made me cry,
Every argument we had and every time he'd lie.
How we'd shout at each other for not paying much attention,
How we held one another, there's so many things I'd mention.
How he'd leave me in the morning in a shirt and a tie,
How I'd miss him in the day and at night not know why.
So let's break up so loud everyone can hear it,
Tear down the house - from your possessions I'd clear it.
Let's break up baby and then get back together,
Do this every year and stay this way forever.
