My wish
The story behind the poem
I wrote this poem in 2007 for a friend's son who was
getting married. It was offered to be published recently so it will be
published soon.
I decided to give copies to students where I work. It seemed to cheer
them up. One of the students whom I gave the poem to asked me to write
him a Valentine poem for his girl. I did and other students began to
ask me to write them poems too, as well as teachers. So, I decided to
write a poetry book with my life story summary with it. I will be
publishing it soon. This is a dream come true as I have always wanted
to write this book but did not think I could. I am so grateful for my
students whom I still write for. Now they're writing poetry too. I
have nine publications and two awards. by Donna
