Poem and Poet
~ From your works shall you be known ~

Lines to love

The cold night air and the warmth of your skin,
A smoothness, to the touch, as soft as silk.
A pure beauty, that is, with absence of sin,
Reflects but human kindness' milk.

The darkness around and the brightness of your eyes,
That shimmer as stormy sea or boundless sunny skies.
I am transfixed by your gaze - which is just as blue.
Our stare locked together and I feel at one with you.

The horror all around and the hope of your smile,
Which radiates happiness into my heart;
Banishes my mind's torments to oblivion's exile
And offers my life the chance of a fresh start.

Happily, I could beside you lay, for eternity.
Mesmerized by your beauty, which every second seems to grow,
Showering me with the warmth of its loving glow.
Just to hold you, is the epitome of serenity.

Every waking minute, I pray we are never parted.
My feelings, nothing could extinguish, having started.
My every thought is of you; euphoric when we're together,
Consoled when you're gone, knowing we will be as one, forever.

The way you make me feel,
My soul you know how to heal.
You make me feel like I never thought I could do.
All these reasons and countless others are why I love you.
