Poem and Poet
~ From your works shall you be known ~

Forever and always

You promised me until death do us part,
Yet all I have left is a breaking heart.
So suddenly, like a dream you were gone,
And every night became so long,
You walk in my dreams, through the years,
Your memory held me and dried my tears,
And at the last, when decisions were made,
You almost turned, you almost stayed.

Give me forever, forever and always
Stay with me until the end of days,
You're burned in my heart, the heart that you stole,
Forever and always, body and soul.

The spiderwork filigree of a million cracks,
From the impact point on the mirror black,
The starshine glitters, sharp edge of insanity,
The lacerations bleed the man I used to be,
My broken heart beats slower and slower,
And the darkness pulls me in ever closer,
In this dark, all I see is your face,
The scent of your hair, a fleeting embrace.

Give me forever, forever and always
Stay with me until the end of days,
You're burned in my heart, the heart that you stole,
Forever and always, body and soul.

Your echoes have stayed all these years,
The cause and the cure of all my fears,
At midnight, you bought my soul,
In return, a whispered secret told,
At that moment you laid a spell on me,
And even if I wanted, I could never be free,
Still I am yours, still I am chained,
Broken and torn, wounded, bloodstained.
