Beloved child
The story behind the poem
This poem was written in my darkest hour. One sunny
day in May my partner and unborn baby died suddenly.
You may think: should this not be in the section of sorrow? The
answer is a resounding no. The last verse gives you the peace that
only a mother's arms can bring and with them hope and security.
Life brings many joys and heartaches. It is definitely how you cope
with the latter which shows who you are. I have another daughter who
is now six and is the light of her dad's eye and she is the today,
tomorrow and real life.
Be safe.
